Stone Care Recommendation

Marble Colors Restoration FL

  • Is dust produced during sanding and grinding?

We use wet processes to clean, hone and polish to avoid dust. We also ensure that adjacent surfaces are protected from splash by masking them. We also thoroughly clean the areas serviced before our staff leaves your property.

  • How can we clean marble or other natural stone floors?

You can use a gentle cleaner for the routine cleaning of marble and other natural stone floors.

  • After how long should we use the surface or area that has just been restored?

The sealers we use dry to the touch within an hour of application. However, we still recommend a freshly sealed surface/area to completely dry before introducing water. Allowing the floor/area to dry will increase the life of the sealed stone.

  • Is marble sealing effective in preventing staining and etching in the future?

The sealants we use help in repelling moisture. However, although sealing facilitates maintenance but the sealers do not coat the stone. Ensure acidic substances, including lemon juice, tomato juice, or any other harsh chemical cleaner, don’t come in contact with marble or limestone as they will etch and dull the finish.

  • How often should marble or natural stone flooring be serviced?

Although it depends on the traffic your floor witness or the wear and tear of the flooring, we recommend annual check-ups to keep track of the condition of the marble or natural stone and decrease the need for a complete restoration project.

  • Why is crystallization cheaper than proper abrasive polish?

Crystallization yields a high gloss finish quickly and easily. It does not require multiple steps involved in honing and polishing. Even the scratch removal process is skipped in crystallization. As a result, it gives a shiny finish but with scratches. At Marble Colors Restoration Fl, we prefer a thorough restoration process that yields better results and meets our client’s expectations.

  • Why do you visit a site before giving a “per square foot” quote?

Before giving a quote, we need a lot of information like the type of stone, wear and tear, damage etc. Unfortunately, clients can seldom provide this information, and we have to visit to inspect the premises to collect all information to give accurate quotes. After inspection, our experts determine how many abrasive applications might be required for restoring and renewing the floor. So, we inspect the premise to calculate the cost of stone restoration before giving quotes and do not provide “per square foot” cost over the telephone.
